This might seem like the point where the process gets difficult, but you will have set the stage for an easy passage through baselining by careful consideration of the actions that you chose to commit to.
The requirements for establishing a baseline are clearly defined in the CAN! Standard for each type of footprint reduction action, so your commitment will have been made with those requirements in full view.
Unless you are a very avid records keeper, you may need to approach your electricity, gas, and water utilities, the company that services your car, or others to help pull together the necessary paperwork. If you are unable to fill some gaps it will at least be an opportunity to start establishing a solid baseline for footprint reductions starting once the baseline requirements have been met.
In parallel with the work of establishing the footprint baseline, the CAN! team will work with your group to find a sponsor organization and firm up a sponsorship agreement that will provide the funding to multiply your group’s footprint reduction efforts 5-fold or more (see Step 6 …)
On to Step 4 – Complete your action plan commitments.
